HOW WE STARTED
Makindye Advanced Community Initiative (MACI) was established with three balls in 2024 with the core aim of fostering community development and youth empowerment in the ghettos and slums of Makindye division through developing vulnerable football talents.
Recognizing the significant football talent among young people in the area, MACI focuses on harnessing local talents to create sustainable opportunities for youth to improve their livelihoods.
MACI initiated activities like football trainings, friendly matches and football tournaments notably the annual “MACI BALL" to promote sports as a tool for social cohesion, discipline, and talent development.
TRAINING SESSIONS
Recognizing the significant football talent in the area, MACI initiated free football trainings to promote football as a tool for social cohesion, fitness, discipline & a pathway to professional football.
Many young people have been kept fully positive and optimistic thus preventing engagement in negative activities.
